We are looking for an outstanding Mechanical Engineer to join our innovative team for development and delivery of critical parts. This role will often involve design work starting at the conceptual level, mature into full 3D modeling, check with FEA analysis, and continue into manufacturing. Hands-on experience and a “get it done" attitude are very important for this position.
Perform trade studies, requirements derivation, and establish the overall vehicle configuration based on requirements
Apply understanding of loads paths, design best practices, and design robust structural configurations for composite and metal parts
Apply design for manufacturing concepts to create designs that are cost effective and easy to fabricate. Preferred experience with composite sandwich construction and adhesive paste bonding
Develop company standards for composite and metallic part CAD models and drawings
Work closely with other engineers on the design, materials, molds, and suppliers
Provide technical guidance on design concepts (risk vs. cost vs. performance)
Support manufacturing to validate and verify that designs meet requirements and specifications
