Job Description:

We are looking for an composite analysis engineer to join our innovative team for development and delivery of critical parts. This role will involve design work starting at the conceptual level, mature into full 3D modeling, check with FEA analysis, and continue into manufacturing. Hands-on experience and a “get it done" attitude are very important for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Analysis of carbon fiber, aramid and other composite metarials to find optimum thickness, and lamination orientation.

  • Apply understanding of loads paths, and design robust structural configurations for composite parts

​

  • Apply design for manufacturing concepts to create designs that are cost effective and easy to fabricate. Preferred experience with composite sandwich construction, foam core construction and adhesive bonding

  • Work closely with other engineers on the design, materials, and suppliers

​​​

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master's degree or PDF in an engineering or relevant field

​

  • Experience with lightweight structures (aircraft other high-performance vehicles)

​

  • Experience with the design of large bonded structures, sandwich construction, hand laid prepreg carbon fiber, machined metal

​​

  • An understanding of load paths and laminate design fundamentals

​

  • Experience with any of Nastran, Hypersizer, Abaqus, Ansys or equivalent programs specifically using the Composite Design Modules

​

  • Experience with finite element tools

​

  • Experience with the manufacturing of composite parts

​​​

  • Experience in the validation and verification of complex, high-reliability systems

​​​

  • Self-starter with the ability work both autonomously and as part of a team, hands-on attitude

​

  • Good writing and speaking skills in English

​

  • Available to travel, if/as required
