Job Description:

Certification Engineer / Manager will perform certification tasks to start EASA and FAA airworthiness approvals for AirCar Cargo drone under JARUS and AirCar aircraft under Part 23 & 27

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and develop certification plans
     

  • Collaborate with the regulatory authority (FAA & EASA) and internal engineering team to establish the certification basis for the AirCar cargo drone following JARUS and AirCar aircraft following Part 23 & 27
     

  • Assist the team with drafting Issue Papers and Whitepapers as necessary for proposing Methods of Compliance, Equivalent Levels of Safety, or required special conditions
     

  • Support the development of the Design Organisation Handbook procedures
     

  • Create DOA documents (including certification plans / reports, compliance demonstration plans / reports, accomplishment instructions, manual supplements and Instructions for Continued Airworthiness)
     

  • Interface with company staff and external suppliers/sub-contractors to support certification requirements
     

  • Representing the company in meetings with authorities as well as taking part in international working groups and committees.
     

  • ​Interpreting airworthiness requirements and advising the various departments in all matters related to airworthiness and certification

Requirements:

  • BS, MS, or PhD in engineering

​

  • Solid experience in aviation

​

  • Prior experience in an engineering or program management role

​

  • Experience working on type certification of an aircraft from concept to issue of a type certificate under 14 CFR Part 23/27 or CS 23/27 or equivalent regulations

​

  • Prior experience on cert projects with significant software and complex hardware elements

​

  • Understanding of aircraft system certification per SAE ARP4754A

​

  • Experience with certification under 14 CFR 21.17

​

  • Knowledgeable on SAE ARP4761, RTCA DO-160, DO-178 and DO-254

​

  • Experience working with regulatory agencies to certify aircraft features or functionality which are not covered by existing FARs

​

  • Knowledge of JARUS guidelines is preferred

​

  • Experience in requirements management tools (such as DOORS)

​

  • Self-starter with the ability work both autonomously and as part of a team, hands-on attitude

​

  • Good writing and speaking skills in English, excellent communication, negotiation skills

​

  • Available to travel, if/as required
