Job Description:

As Engineering Manager you will be responsible for development and delivery of aircraft technologies, organizational development and manage certification process for AirCar. Your task will be directly contributed to the development of propriety technologies in aircraft design in both hardware and software. You will built and lead the company's Technical Roadmap and manage technical partnerships and therefore will play a critical role in the mission of the company. As the Engineering Manager, you and your team will be responsible for developing the company's core technology which will have a significant impact in the race to urban air mobility.

Responsibilities:

  • Evolve and continue to mature the organization, including all engineering, product delivery, operations, system management and certification

  • Work with the Industrial Design, Airframe, Propulsion, Certification and Systems Teams to converge on the physical and systems architectures for a prototype eVTOL aircraft

​

  • Drive multi-disciplinary trade studies to arrive at actionable design solutions

​

  • Support design and analysis activities to verify business and regulatory requirements will be met with high confidence

​

  • Act as the primary technical point of contact with key suppliers

​

  • Lead and/or participate in system and item level reviews throughout the development process

​

  • Support aircraft and systems layouts

Requirements:

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Aerospace Engineering or a related field

​

  • Proven experience designing aircraft and/or rotorcraft 

​

  • Familiarity with battery energy storage systems and electric propulsion systems

​

  • Familiar with 14 CFR Part 23/27 & CS 23/27 and their associated means of compliance

​​​

  • Experience in a fast-paced design environment

​

  • Understanding of fixed-wing and rotorcraft aerodynamics

​

  • Experience modeling eVTOL and/or multicopter vehicles

​

  • Aircraft / Rotorcraft design experience up through flight testing of full-scale prototypes

​

  • Familiarity with rotorcraft aeromechanics simulation software

​

  • Experience with aircraft operating and production cost modeling

​

  • Experience with wind tunnel testing

​

  • Experience with loads and aeroelastic analysis

​

  • Experience with acoustic modeling

​

  • Experience with rotor dynamics simulation

​

  • Experience in requirements management tools (such as DOORS)​

​

  • Good writing and speaking skills in English, excellent communication, negotiation skills
     

  • Available to travel, if/as required
