Job Description:
As Powertrain Engineer you will be responsible for developing multicopter powertrain systems at prototype level. For this purpose, you manage proper baselining of requirements and coherence through all levels of specifications, drive powertrain requirement validation, supplier management, product delivery testing and monitoring the powertrain systems.
Responsibilities:

Create and own the electric powertrain (DC electric motor, inverter, and propeller) models in a multidisciplinary simulation environment

Lead the powertrain model validation, testing and modeling effort

Support aircraft level trade studies involving the electric propulsion system
​

Support design and analysis activities to verify business and regulatory requirements will be met with high confidence

Requirements:
-
B.Sc./M.Sc./Ph.D. in relevant discipline
​
-
Experience in aviation or EV industry in powertrain, DC motors or Invertors
​
-
Completed (designed/built/tested) high voltage/high power designs at 400V
​
-
Experience with powertrain simulation
​
-
Preferred experience in DC motor design, SiC FOC based inverters
​
-
Preferred experience in rotorcrafts large drones or EV industries
​
-
Experience in numerical modeling and dynamic simulation of complex systems
​​​

Good understanding of all technical aspects related to aircraft systems and aircraft flight physics
​

Self-starter with the ability work both autonomously and as part of a team, hands-on attitude
​

Good writing and speaking skills in English, excellent communication, negotiation skills
​

Available to travel, if/as required
