Job Description:

As Aircraft System Engineer you will be responsible for all aircraft level inputs to reviews and milestones at prototype level. For this purpose, you manage proper baselining of requirements and coherence through all levels of specifications, drive aircraft requirement validation, and ensure proper processes implementation according to aviation guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • To do Requirements Based Engineering (RBE), including requirement capture, decomposition of high-level requirements and their allocation to systems and items and requirement review, configuration (baseline) and traceability
     

  • To support Value Based Engineering (VBE) tasks and trade-offs to optimize aircraft performance
     

  • To manage grouping of high-level functions and development of high-level architecture
     

  • To manage and compile technical documentation as per the specification tree for aircraft deliverables, including a high-level functional interface control document
     

  • To develop, execute and maintain test plans, test specifications and procedures, including performing gap analysis of the test procedures against requirements
     

  • To carry out post-test activities including data acquisition, analysis of test results and investigation of problems and failures found during development and qualification testing
     

  • To actively participate in change control board to ensure correct impact assessment and implementation of changes
     

  • To support development of engineering processes, guidance and review checklists at various phases of design and development
     

  • To co-ordinate engineering activities and provide technical support in the definition and implementation of the activities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree (or equivalent) in aviation (or related discipline)
     

  • Experience in system engineering for complex, high-reliability systems
     

  • Knowledge of SAE-ARP-4754A and preferably SAE-ARP-4761A
     

  • Experience in system architecture, CONOPs and/or modeling based systems engineering
     

  • Formal training regarding system engineering is a strong plus (e.g., INCOSE)
     

  • Experience in JARUS guidelines is preferred
     

  • Experience in the validation and verification of complex, high-reliability systems
     

  • Good understanding of all technical aspects related to aircraft systems and aircraft flight physics
     

  • Experience in requirements management tools (such as DOORS)
     

  • Self-starter with the ability work both autonomously and as part of a team, hands-on attitude
     

  • Good writing and speaking skills in English, excellent communication, negotiation skills
     

  • Available to travel, if/as required
